Since 1998, Tampa Bay roots rockers Hangtown have been serving up their own melodic blend of southern twang and midwestern grit, combining classic country rhythms with power pop chime and Replacements-era indie-rock swagger. For over two decades, their classic sound has remained authentic, energetic, and has proven itself timeless. Hangtown members include singer/songwriter Ted Lukas (vocal and guitar), Aaron Akers (bass), Finn Walling (guitar and vocal), and Scott Murdock (drums). Visit the Shows page for dates.
Hangtown's debut, Here For Now, was released independently in 1999. Soon after, the band signed to Black Dog Records, an indie label co-owned by members of the band Blue Mountain. Their second release, Eleven Reasons, came out on Black Dog in 2000. Hangtown regrouped in 2006 to release an EP, Gone Today, Here Tomorrow, mixed by known producer Eric "Roscoe" Ambel. After a 10-year hiatus, Hangtown reformed in 2017, and are currently writing new songs and performing at various live events.
